Come and explore the city with your little ones this half-term, for less than a fiver!
Half-term is just around the corner, and although it’s great to spend a full week with your little ones, it can be difficult to keep them entertained on a budget.
To help, we’ve put together a suggested itinerary for a day-trip into Manchester, which doesn’t cost the earth.
As the saying goes, some of the best things in life are free!
Morning
Northern Quarter Street-art sketching: Free
The Northern Quarter is an eclectic hub of street art; a maze of murals, portraits and paintings waiting for you to discover for free!
Give your little ones a pad and some pencils and challenge them to sketch the pieces that they come across. A great way to get their creative juices flowing and introduce them to a new art-form which they might not have come across before.
Lunchtime
Picnic in Whitworth Park: Free
If the weather is nice enough, pack a picnic and head to Whitworth Park. It has a play area, so is sure to be a hit with little ones.
Afternoon
The Tinkering Studio at Whitworth Art Gallery: Free
After lunch, check out the Tinkering studio, a hands-on, creative studio for trying out ideas and playing with materials. Drop in for an hour and let them tinker until their hearts content!
