Tackling Homelessness and Mental Health at Manchester Arndale
Join us on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th October, as we host The Elephant in the Room, a thought-provoking event organised by Manchester Arndale in partnership with Real Change MCR and one of its partner charities, Coffee4Craig Manchester.
Timed to coincide with both World Homeless Day 2024 and World Mental Health Day UK, this powerful initiative offers free “open-talk” workshops that highlight the vital link between homelessness and mental health.
Everyone is welcome to come along. Just look out for the giant blue elephant, the event’s centrepiece and a symbol of the often unspoken challenges many people still face. It’s an opportunity to dive into the complexities of homelessness, gain insight into available support and discover ways to get involved.
Led by Coffee4Craig—a charity founded by Risha Lancaster in memory of her brother Craig, who sadly passed away while homeless—these sessions will explore key factors contributing to homelessness, including mental health struggles, relationship breakdowns, job loss, and housing insecurity.
This event is sure to offer a valuable opportunity to spark meaningful conversations, raise awareness and make a real difference in our community.
