Halloween In the City
Mark the arrival of Halloween with a weekend of monstrously good events across the city centre and inside Manchester Arndale.
A massive monster party is about to hit the city’s streets – starting with a giant rooftop monster invasion. If you’re heading into the Arndale, look out for Snozzer peering over the top of Next at the Exchange Square entrance.
Walk the Plank’s monster parade will journey through the Arndale and onto Market Street at various points throughout the weekend, bringing monsters and music together to entertain the whole family.
On Saturday 29 October, take a seat at the Pumpkin Patch in Exchange Court and watch as a professional pumpkin carver etches some rather gruesome goblins onto giant pumpkins. On Sunday 30 October, get spooked at the Silent Spooky Storytelling. Pick up your set of headphones and listen as the storyteller reads a frightful tale. You might even receive some spooky sweet treats!
If that’s not enough, across the weekend there’s the chance to get crafty at the monster mask-making workshop in Exchange Court. Get creative and craft a spooktacular monster masks!

Out on the city’s streets the monster party continues! Monsters love partying in Manchester so much at Halloween that this year they have put on a music festival. It’s Glaston-scary! Expect monster bands, spooky DJs, a glow in the dark dance tent, crafting, carnival rides, Halloween costume vogue balls chill out fields and even monster security guards keeping you safe! Watch out! The portaloos are terrifying!
Families are encouraged to come dressed up in Halloween costumes then split into teams to compete for “spookiest team” with special prizes, rewards from top shops and restaurants and activities for families who come dressed up.
Don’t have a costume? Not to worry! Head into Manchester Arndale to the mask-making workshop, where you can make yourself a fang-tastic monster mask.
