Celebrate the start of summer at The Manchester Flower Festival running from Friday 26th – Monday 29th May. Shop windows, squares, streets and statues will be transformed with floral displays, blooms and gardens and visitors can enjoy outdoor dining, live music and entertainment. Find our beautiful and unique display of giant inflatable sunflower sculptures at the Arndale created by renowned artist, Filthy Luker. ‘Turing’s Sunflowers’ pays homage to the brilliant mathematician and codebreaker, Alan Turing, who believed that the spiral shapes on the head of sunflowers followed the Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical concept that appears frequently in nature. The installation brings together the beauty of nature with the wonder of science.
