Whatever the reason for your city centre visit, The Arndale has something for you. With a vibrant and diverse range of shops, restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues – we are fashion food and fun, all under one roof. Our brand-new campaign, We Are The Arndale, brings this to life by shining a spotlight on local people from across Greater Manchester and hearing about their experiences and ‘best bits’ of the Arndale.

This weekend, the campaign will take over the Centre the form of giant ‘Hollywood’ style letters, displayed as part of a two-day event.

On Friday 8th and Saturday 9th July, these giant letters spelling out ‘We Are The Arndale’ will be taking pride of place in Exchange Court (opposite Next).

The celebration of local people continues as two Manchester-based artists, Meha Hindocha and Madi Marcantonatos, will be live drawing on a selection of the letters. This is your chance to watch their beautiful art come to life!

Meha Hindocha is originally from Kenya but has now adopted Manchester as her home. Inspired by her Indian-Kenyan heritage she likes to bring vibrant colour and shapes into her work and loves to create intricate, detailed pieces. Meha’s well-known Manchester Skyline artwork was been inspired by local stories of favourite places, bands, dates and more.

Madison Marcantonatos is a multi-disciplinary artist specialising in illustration, tattooing and fashion design. Her bold, illustrative style takes heavy inspiration from 1950’s cartoons and Japanese anime, with a playful twist. Nature and animals are themes often referred to across her work, which is bright, bold and fun.

Meha’s piece here at the Arndale will be inspired by travelling, cities, industry, interactions and the vibrancy of everyday life. Madi will be turning her unique tattoo art into Manchester-inspired illustrations.

On another section of the letters, we’ll be giving you the chance to share what the Arndale means to you by writing your favourite things about the centre. Bring your family along, pick up a pen from our friendly team and write, draw and scribble away.

Over the coming months, we’ll be working in partnership with Real Change MCR who support people who are homeless or rough sleeping in Manchester, making a real difference to their lives. Look carefully and you’ll notice that one of our giant letters doubles up as a moneybox – please do make a donation to Real Change MCR if you can during the event, every donation big or small will help improve the lives of local people.

We hope to see you there, don’t miss your chance to snap a photo of Meha and Madi at work this weekend by visiting at the times below.
