The Manchester Flower Show is back for 2022, and this year it’s an extra special celebration.
Across the Queen’s Jubilee Weekend from 2-5 June, shop windows, squares, streets and even statues will go green (and red and white and blue) with floral displays, gardens and blooms to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years of service.
Here at the Arndale, we’ll be hosting a spectacular array of displays featuring the most beautiful (and instagrammable) flowers and blooms. This year our very own Queen Bee is back and will take pride of place on the upper mall, near Wilko. This clever display, inspired by the Wild in Art ‘Bee in the City’ sculptures, has been upcycled and will also feature a new fresh flower crown designed by Frog Flowers.
Brand new to The Arndale and part of the Jubilee Floral Trail, visitors can discover The Crown in Exchange Court – a huge crown-shaped planter, filled with a colourful mix of tropical palms and jewel-like English flowers. Additionally, visitors can stop outside the Morphe store to view three Floral Dresses made from scraps of fashion waste fabric. The dresses will create an impactful installation that is not only beautiful but raises awareness around the importance of sustainability in fashion. The dresses are part of a collaboration between Manchester Metropolitan University fashion students, local charity shops and fashion stores, and the team behind Manchester International Fashion Festival.
The Manchester Flower Show is organised by the Manchester BID and is free to attend, with activations across the city centre from 2 – 5 June. For more information on what you can expect from the weekend, click here.
