We Are The Arndale. We are the centre of the city and a Manchester landmark. Where you can browse for hours, catch up with friends, spend time with family and make lasting memories.

The Arndale is THE destination, whatever the reason for your city centre visit. With a vibrant and diverse range of shops, restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues – we are for the fashion lovers, the foodies and the thrill seekers alike.

Our latest campaign shines a spotlight on local people, their varied experiences of the Arndale and favourite places to visit, whether that’s individually, with friends, family or loved ones.

Watch our campaign video for a whistle-stop tour of all the Arndale has to offer.

Genesia

Genesia moved to Manchester from Sheffield three years ago for work and to experience all that the city has to offer. The Arndale was the first place she visited when she arrived. Genesia is currently a manager at Lush in Manchester Arndale and she loves it – “Working in the Arndale feels like a community, all the staff know each other and are really nice”. She likes to wander around the centre on her lunch break to browse; “there’s a nice mix of independent shops and big brands”.

Genesia loves shopping for bold and bright makeup at Debenhams.com Beauty, KIKO Milano and Morphe, and often shops for clothes for a night out in Monki. “I like to find something new and fun and add some sparkle to my outfit”. She will complete a casual look with a fresh pair of trainers from Kick Game. When it comes to food, Genesia loves the vegan options available at the Arndale, including grabbing a pretzel at Auntie Anne’s or visiting the Arndale Market.

Vanessa, Jamie, George, Betsy and Bonnie

Vanessa and her husband Jamie both grew up in Manchester and now have three children aged 9, 8 and 10 months. Vanessa visits the Arndale a couple of times a month, usually for a full day trip with the kids. Their day involves visiting family-friendly shops such as The Lego Store, Kenji and The Entertainer, or shopping for kids’ clothes at H&M. The family love to grab a milkshake whilst walking around the shops and often go for a bite to eat together in the food court or one of the Arndale’s casual dining restaurants. For Vanessa, being a wheelchair user means trips out with the kids can often present challenges; however, she loves the accessibility of the Arndale, with everything under one roof – whether its shoe shopping at Footlocker, going for food & drink as a family at Slim Chickens or fun & games with the whole family at Electric Gamebox.

Siobhan, Dominique, Munsaka, Emily and Jake

A group of friends working in Manchester city centre, they often visit the Arndale, both individually and as a group. They enjoyed a visit to the recently opened Urban Playground to play The Cube and mini-golf, with Jake describing it as a unique and fun experience to do with your friends. Munsaka loves how you can eat and drink there whilst also getting competitive with your mates. For them, the Arndale is a great place to start the night out, grabbing a snack at Churros Mexicanos, a bite to eat in Dӧner Shack, followed by drinks and games at Roxy Ball Room. Siobhan likes to shop for her “going out out” outfits in New Look and River Island, whilst Emily loves the styles in Monki and Urban Outfitters.

Ann and Mike

Ann and Mike live in Didsbury and have been married for 45 years. They haven’t travelled into town for the last couple of years but have recently enjoyed reconnecting with Manchester city centre and discovering what it has to offer. They tend to travel in on the tram to have a mooch around the shops. Both Ann and Mike like to shop in Next “We think it’s better than buying online as you can see what you’re getting there and then”. They enjoyed making a day of their recent visit into the city looking around their favourite stores such as Waterstones and Rituals, before going for a bite to eat and drink at PizzaLuxe. With the unpredictable Manchester weather, the fact that the Arndale is undercover and everything being in one place makes their visit easier and more enjoyable.
